Position Summary The GIS Analyst’s primary role is to provide mapping and logistical support to the organization. This diverse client spectrum includes: Drilling, Geology, Land, Marketing, Production, Regulatory, Field Operations, Investor Relations and BOD or other preparation materials. This position requires strong technical skills and an expert-level proficiency in the deployment of GIS mapping activities. The role necessitates the ability to prioritize requests from multiple clients, possess superior communication and critical thinking skills, adherence to the concept of project ownership and a willingness to contribute and help build an enhanced, GIS foundation to support the Company’s growth. The position reports to the GIS Supervisor and is located in downtown Houston, TX. Level and salary commensurate with experience. Essential Job Functions Maintain, revise and enhance the existing GIS environment at Chord Energy to nurture an understanding of how GIS mapping activities support Chord Energy’ business ventures Help identify opportunities to expand GIS support throughout the organization via a collaborative, team-building approach Construct and revise SDE and Shape file datasets via geo-referencing imagery and investor presentations and capture data by digitizing polygons Create and maintain geo-databases and/or ArcGIS projects that populate Web-Maps, digital representations of projects and plotted, hard-copy maps Continually communicate with and build strong, working relationships with numerous Chord Energy departments, varied levels of employees and outside contractors Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities with a commitment to excellence and adherence to Company values Embrace other duties as assigned or needed to ensure the success of the company This job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities of the position. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED 5 years of GIS experience supporting the mapping needs of an integrated E&P/Midstream company Practice critical thinking skills and adapt to a dynamic environment Understanding of coordinate systems and well-versed in data extract, transform and loading techniques Experience with pipeline data and familiarity with midstream processes and terminology Web Mapping including building and maintaining Web Map Services (WMS) and ArcGIS Portal Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, to manipulate data for joins and building definition queries Basic scripting using Python/Visual Basic Experience implementing standards and procedures for the GIS Hub and integration of systems through database integration Proficiency in ESRI Software including ArcMap 10.5, ArcGIS for Server Familiarity with IHS, DrillingInfo and other 3rd party data suppliers Experience working with Land Administration in the creation and maintenance of spatial data Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess the ability to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer, copier, files, telephone, and fax; maintain attention to detail despite multi-tasking ; acuity to read printed materials or a computer screen and communicate in person or a telephone conversation The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
