General Description

The Material Handler is responsible for performing the physical and computer tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distribution of products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment.

Essential Job Duties

• Receive products off the trucks using carts, the pallet jack and/or forklift (if certified)
• Unpack and match goods received against purchase orders
• Identify and resolve discrepancies related to inventory
• Maintain inventory records of received goods in CPSI, stamp and send packing slips up to accounting
• Process returns in a timely basis
• Pull and fill department orders in a timely manner
• Deliver goods to the proper department
• Restock hospital storage rooms to requested par levels and checks for outdates
• Stock product into the warehouse watching par levels, checking outdates and posting needed products in the supply chain que to maintain inventory counts
• Knowledge of units of measure
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff
• Follow all hospital policies and procedures
• Other warehouse tasks

Other (Non-Essential) Job Duties

• Knowledge of CPSI to search for products and their item numbers
• Answers phone calls from departments about product availability and/or ETA
• Use of hand tools and other devices operated in a warehouse environment.
• Demonstrate professionalism while providing quality customer service

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must have excellent customer service skills
• Proficient computer experience required
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Organized and detail oriented

Preferred Qualifications 

• 1-2 years of warehouse in healthcare preferred

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

• Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting; must be able to stand/walk for most of the work day; heavy lifting, must be able to lift packages up to 75 pounds infrequently.
• Must be able to work paying close attention to detail with frequent interruptions
• Ability to work in a fast pace environment
• Duties to consist of 80% physical activity and 20% desk work to perform data entry requirements
