Responsibilities
What you’ll do
Wieland currently has an immediate need for an Industrial Plumber who will be responsible for the regular and corrective maintenance for the facility and production work centers. This position will additionally perform repairs and installation of plumbing and mechanical equipment working from schematics, diagrams, and floor layouts. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined and have plumbing and maintenance experience. This position will sit at Wieland Thin Strip located in Waterbury, CT.
Starting Pay: $30.90/hr.
Shift: 1st Shift (7 am - 3 pm)
Pay Schedule: Bi-Weekly
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders
- Assemble, install, maintain, and test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes
- Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.
- Flexibility and understanding that all maintenance staff may be required to perform duties outside normal areas of expertise to meet the needs of the facility
- Detect and report faulty operations as well as unusual machine conditions
- Read, understand, and follow all Job Instructions Specific to the equipment
- Perform various Machine Preventative Maintenance actives such as greasing, light mechanical work, check temperature, pressures, and flow-rates
- Work with other trades as required
Qualifications
What you’ll need
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3 years of Industrial or Commercial Plumbing experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference materials
- Knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
- Knowledge of plumbing codes
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to perform simple math (addition and subtraction) and familiarity with use of computers
