Wieland Provides is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer. The Manufacturing Engineer will plan, design, and implement production systems that assure safety, performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence, cost control, and quality assurance. The Manufacturing Engineer will strive to implement Lean processes that increase productivity, reduce in-process inventory, increase quality, and generate overall continuous improvement of manufacturing and production support systems.
This role is located in Verona, VA and will be fully on-site.

Responsibilities
Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
- ASME Code Understanding (As it pertains to pressure vessels)
- Solid Works Proficiency
- Manufacturing Knowledge
- Understanding Cost Structure and input labor routings
- Shop Floor Support
- Development of engineering/manufacturing instructions.
- Design layout of equipment or workspaces to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Design, install, and troubleshoot manufacturing tools/equipment.
- Place RFQ’s to contractors or suppliers and negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
- Evaluate and solve production issues.
- Generate or adapt equipment and technology to serve user needs.
- Determine root causes of failures using 5 Why, Fishbone Diagrams, Brainstorming or other statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
- Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.
- Provide written work instructions or operating details for equipment or manufacturing processes as needed.
- Strong understanding of machining processes for turning, milling, and drilling.
- Strong understanding of machining equipment and setup.
Manufacturing Engineer Competencies:
- Technical Capacity – Electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic troubleshooting.
- Analytical Problem Solving/Analysis abilities.
- Communicate proficiently using verbal and written methods.
- Proficient with SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Highly motivated and willing to set goals and take the Initiative to get tasks done.
- Teamwork Orientated with an eye for quality.
- Analytical Skills – need to be able to identify areas of low efficiency and work to provide improvements.
Work Environment
This job operates in a heavy manufacturing environment. Some of the work will be performed in a professional office environment. This role requires the use of various measuring tools for length, pressure, electrical signals etc.
Required Education and Experience
Minimum of Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent degree) with a minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering or a commensurate level of experience with a related field.
