Wieland is hiring a Vice President of Supply Chain at Wieland Metal Services. As the Vice President of Supply Chain, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our supply chain operations to enhance inventory velocity, streamline systems, develop robust Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, and implement strategies to improve working capital efficiency. Reporting directly to the BU President, you will be responsible for leading and executing initiatives that drive operational excellence and support our company's strategic objectives.
Travel to Metal Service locations will be required (25% - 30%).
Responsibilities
Vice President of Supply Chain Responsibilities:
Inventory Velocity Enhancement
- Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory turnover rates while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Analyze demand patterns, market trends, and customer requirements to optimize inventory positioning and replenishment strategies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, procurement, and operations teams to synchronize inventory management processes and minimize stockouts.
Systems Enhancement
- Evaluate existing supply chain systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the functionality and integration of supply chain management systems, including ERP, WMS, and demand planning tools.
- Drive digitalization efforts to leverage data analytics and automation for better decision-making and process optimization.
Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Process Development
- Establish and refine the S&OP process to align demand and supply plans, improve forecast accuracy, and enhance operational agility.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between sales, operations, finance, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment on business goals and priorities.
- Implement performance metrics and KPIs to monitor S&OP effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
Working Capital Improvement Strategies
- Develop and execute working capital optimization initiatives, including inventory reduction, receivables management, and payables optimization.
- Implement cash flow forecasting models and liquidity management strategies to support business growth objectives while minimizing financial risk.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to monitor working capital performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Leadership and Developing High Performing Teams
- Setting clear expectations, leading by example, providing support, and holding oneself and team members responsible for achieving results. Developing a high-performing team via building trust, clarifying roles, promoting collaboration, empowering decision-making, and providing feedback and recognition. Vice President of Supply Chain Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- ASCM (association for supply chain management) CPIM certification preferred
- Proven track record of leadership in supply chain management roles within the metal service center industry or a similar manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical skills and experience in data-driven decision-making, with proficiency in supply chain modeling, forecasting, and inventory optimization techniques
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change management initiatives in a dynamic business environment
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels
- Strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and a results-oriented approach to achieving business objectives
- Experience with SAP/Oracle ERP systems, demand management software and Microsoft suite of products
