What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Clerk position at Wiers Farm?
In this role you will be responsible for processing payroll, onboarding employees, and managing worker injury cases for Ohio and Florida locations. You will interact with crew supervisors to gather, enter, verify and process weekly payroll. You will onboard and process paperwork for new employees. You will generate and maintain employee records and management reports. You will coordinate employee injury cases.
Responsibilities:
· Enter, validate and process payroll information into accounting systems.
· Ensure accuracy and completeness of weekly payroll transactions.
· Prepare weekly and monthly payroll reports for supervisors and management.
· Work closely with employees to answer any pay-related questions and resolve problems.
· Calculate, track and communicate vacation, absenteeism, holidays and other personnel items.
· Compile hiring packets, assist employees in completing packets, and enter new employee data in accounting system.
· Manage employee injury cases by working with providers and employees to schedule appointments, process claims, maintain records and complete reports.
· Maintain and update payroll items in accounting system for seasonal and yearly changes.
· Process garnishments and other withholdings.
· Prepare and mail tax reports.
· Maintain employee files.
· Answer and direct calls.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
· Must be self-motivated and driven with the ability to make independent decisions.
· Must have strong attention to detail.
· Must be able to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple parallel tasks.
· Must be professional and maintain discretion with confidential information.
· Must have the ability to communicate with all levels of employees at the organization.
· Must have effective oral and written communications.
· Must be able to collaborate and cooperate within groups and with other departments.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· Must have ability and attitude to learn all software necessary to perform the job.
· Spanish speaking a plus.
Required Education:
· High School diploma or GED.
Required Experience:
· Minimum of 2 years payroll or related accounting/HR experience.
· Agribusiness or fresh produce experience a plus.
Physical Setting, Schedule, Location:
· Requires talking, hearing, vision and other basic motions and movements.
· Reports to HR Administrator and Controller
· In person - Willard, Ohio
