BASIC PURPOSE:

Perform calibration of pressure and/or temperature measuring devices in a production cell. Operate production calibration equipment. Perform minor equipment adjustments as necessary.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB:

  • Performs calibration and adjustments on gauges
  • Installs, repairs, maintains and adjusts process instruments used to control and measure variables, such as pressure
  • Makes adjustments as necessary to produce product within specified accuracy 
  • Performs changeovers and assists in troubleshooting calibration equipment, rejects non calibratable product
  • Operates within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and special instructions (SIs). 
  • Completes daily production logs. 
  • Performs preventive maintenance on calibration equipment. 
  • Communicates with operators from other shifts. 
  • Cleans and maintains work area. (5S)
  • Assists mechanics and machinists in repair work
  • Performs ancillary duties as needed

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:   

  • Previous experience working in manufacturing environment, is preferred
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers. 
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds required. 
  • The ability to stand for long periods up to eight or more hours at a time
  • Able to work in noisy environment.
  • Good eyesight (eyesight correction acceptable).
  • Be able to work overtime if required.  (including weekends)
  • Reach 80% of potential output with 100% quality for the product family of the home cell
