What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker- Investigative/Assessment/Treatment position at Wilkes County Department of Social Services?
Professional level casework providing protective, investigative, counseling and case management services for children who are at risk for neglect and/or abuse. To provide social work services including treatment and immediate response to safety issues with children. Work involves investigation of alleged neglect, abuse, and dependency; substantiation of the alleged neglect or abuse as prescribed by federal and state guidelines, providing expert testimony in court hearings, and following-up with case management and preventive services for clients. Social Worker may provide group, family or individual treatment to clients of any age and regarding any developmental, mental, medical, substance abuse, financial or family problem. Emphasis of this position will be on the complexity of casework, treatment, and investigation. Will rotate on-call duties with other staff. Other duties as required.
