Wilkes University is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated and experienced Instructional Designer/LMS Administrator to join the Office of Technology for Teaching and Learning on a full-time basis. This multifaceted role involves instructional design, training development and delivery, LMS administration, and fostering innovation in educational technology and online learning. This role requires a unique blend of instructional design expertise and technical proficiency in managing Learning Management Systems. The ideal candidate will be able to play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining effective learning experiences through the integration of instructional design principles and LMS administration.

The Office of Technology for Teaching and Learning (OTTL) provides instructional design services to faculty and other subject matter experts as well as supports faculty implementing various instructional technologies into their courses. OTTL also provides faculty development in the form of workshops, one-on-one trainings/support and webinars on various topics related to technology, teaching and learning. The office also administers the LMS, a video management system and other tools used in teaching and learning. They support a large number of fully online programs, which are central to meeting enrollment targets and achieving the strategic plan.

The successful candidate will collaborate with subject matter experts to develop engaging courses and multimedia instructional materials, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and adult learning principles. The ID/LMS Administrator will provide the complete range of support for Wilkes' LMS (Brightspace) including user support, faculty training, all aspects of system administration, and supporting integrations with enterprise systems, video management platform (Panopto), third-party extensions, and other university systems. This position will also provide support for other academic applications, such as Turnitin and Respondus, etc. The ID/LMS admin will design, build, and facilitate provide novel, professional learning offered in various delivery formats on teaching best practices including the use of academic technology in face-to-face, hybrid, and online learning environments as well as create and manage effective documentation support materials for end users.

The ideal candidate will possess at least a Bachelor's degree, master's preferred, in instructional design/technology, learning technologies, computer science, or a related field, with a minimum of three years of experience as an LMS administrator and three years as an instructional designer in an academic environment.

Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), Brightspace (D2L) strongly preferred, and multimedia content development is essential along with software applications like Camtasia and/or Adobe Creative Suite. Strong technical skills, including troubleshooting and user support, are essential, along with excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills as the role involves working closely with team members, faculty, program leaders, and external partners. Familiarity with project management principles, UDL and accessibility requirements are highly preferred. A demonstrated aptitude for quickly learning new tools, skills and technologies and the ability to stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in instructional design and higher education are highly desirable.

The Office of Technology for Teaching and Learning is a hybrid office with all team members spending about half of the week on campus.
