What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lift Attendant position at Willamette Pass?
Essential functions of the Lift Attendant position:
- Provide outstanding guest service by assisting and directing guests on and off chairlifts in a safe, professional, and efficient manner.
- Check all guests boarding the lift for a valid ticket or pass using a scanner.
- Monitor and assess guests’ needs by slowing chairlifts down for their safety and enjoyment.
- Shovel snow, chip ice, sweep chairs, and maintain loading and unloading ramps in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform daily lift checks, complete timely logs, accident, and/or incident reports.
- Effective communication via Snowbowl protocol including prompt emergency notification to dispatch.
- Maintain safety and operating guidelines of lifts and lift ramps as per requirements.
- Assist in emergencies as required, i.e.: lift evacuations, avalanche rescue, etc.
- Meet company requirement for appearance, attendance and punctuality.
- Required to be in uniform and wear name tag daily.
Knowledge required:
- Knowledge of ticket scanning equipment.
- Knowledge of lift controls and operations for aerial/surface lifts.
- Knowledge of lift and ski area safety processes and procedures.
Skills required:
- Skill in determining possible safety hazards.
- Skill in basic machinery.
- Skill in providing excellent customer service.
Abilities required:
- Ability to shovel and transport snow (up to 70 lbs.) for long periods in adverse outdoor conditions.
- Ability to ski or snowboard safely to and from assigned workstation using company designated routes. Note: In some instances employees without fundamental ski or snowboarding ability may be assigned workstations where such abilities are not required.
- Ability to use hand tools (rakes and shovels) to perform regular maintenance on snow loading/unloading surfaces according to specified standards.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time in varying weather conditions, including extreme cold and/or wind.
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally with guests and co-workers.
- Ability to read, understand, and comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Ability to perform timely and accurate completion of lift logs and incident reports.
- Ability to use scanning equipment to verify every guest is in possession of correct pass or ticket prior to boarding lift.
Minimum qualifications required:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous lift operations experience is a plus.
Salary : $23,700 - $30,000
