We are looking for a CAD Manager to be responsible for direct leadership over CAD Designers for Willdan Performance Engineering. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science, an Associates Degree in CAD Technology, or an Engineering Technology degree. The candidate must have experience with AutoCAD and Revit/BIM. Experience with AutoCAD MEP is a plus. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate success in the following:

Skills and Capabilities

• Be fully capable of leading design teams in meeting the project goals in a team-focused environment.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate ideas and concepts in both written and oral form.
• Experience leading CAD designers in an engineering firm is desirable.
• Experience in HVAC design is a plus.
• Minimal travel is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct, organize and manage all CAD related work.
• Prepare accurate, quality work products. Ensure that plans are in compliance with all
• project standards.
• Work with Design Engineers to coordinate the generation of accurate, presentable
• engineering drawings from redlines or other design schematics provided.
• Performs effective client coordination in a timely manner, scheduling, monitoring and
• ensuring that projects are completed on time.
• Work with external parties (clients, vendors, consultants) to coordinate all project
• specific CAD related work and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Coordinate workload with CAD drafters and Engineers as needed.
• Follow and ensure implementation of WPE CAD standards.
• Provide knowledgeable support of Auto CAD 2018 or above.
• Create diagrams, floor plans, elevations, section-cuts, cross-sections, schedules in
• AutoCAD from redlines provided by Design Engineers.
• Train production designers on new tools, features, and program changes.
• Responsible for ensuring all project files are organized, accessible and backed up.
• Develop new processes and select new products to improve design processes and
• efficiency.
• Provide constant guidance of CAD designers, setting goals, expectations, and priority of
• tasks
• Provide annual performance evaluations of CAD designers
• Provide corrective action plans and coaching for CAD designers
