Position : Payroll Administrator Location : Liberty, MO
Job Id : 374 # of Openings : 1 SUMMARY : Responsible for processing all William Jewell College payrolls, including faculty, staff, and students.
- Prepares and submits payroll data to outside payroll service (PAYCOR) for processing of bi weekly (hourly staff), monthly (faculty and exempt staff), and student payrolls.
- Communicates and resolves timesheet discrepancies with employee and / or supervisor.
- Prepares retirement transmittals and monthly journal entries for posting to general ledger accounts.
- Assists employees with questions regarding their pay advices, tax withholding forms and other payroll-related issues
- Distributes pay advices
- Request various reports from PAYCOR as required for Human Resources
- Other duties as assigned by the AVP of Finance
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by college accounting coursework or equivalent years of education and directly related work experience required.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles required.
- Ability to handle confidential matters judiciously.
- Requires excellent computer skills including knowledge of mainframe or networked PC data processing applications and proficiency in Excel spreadsheets.
- Attention to detail and the ability to organize work processes in order to meet established deadlines is essential.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with frequent interruption.
- Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment is essential.
