Position Summary
The library assistant works across library departments to ensure that library services to the law school, university, and general user communities are maintained. The assistant assists on various large-scale library projects of a temporary duration (including collection weeding and shifting) and participates in the day to day operation of library operations through work in three library departments. The library assistant primarily reports to the Director of the Law Library, but works with other library departments and supervisors as assigned.
Conditions of Employment
This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstratable organizational skills
- Strong customer-service orientation and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and show good judgment with work assignments
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Demonstrable professional writing skills
- Experience compiling basic statistical reports
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Power-Point
- Ability to learn and adopt to changing office technology
Preferred Qualifications
- Post high school courses or certificates
- Prior experience working in a library setting
- Prior experience working with an integrated library system
- Proficiency with graphic design software (like Canva) for creating library reports and media

Advertised Pay Range
Up to $ 45,000, commensurate with experience
