Summary
The Engineering Support role provides administrative assistance to the Engineering Department at Williams, White & Company. The Engineering Support role will be responsible for the organization and cataloguing of engineering documentation to electronic formats.
Essential Functions
- Ability to work with technology or business management system to encourage an efficient, responsible, and timely ordering process.
- Performs administrative tasks and problem-solving of a highly complex and confidential nature requiring discretion and exercised independent judgment.
- Compiles and maintains control records and related files to release models, drawings, and engineering documents to Manufacturing and other operating departments.
- Examines documents, such as models, drawings, change orders, and specifications to verify completeness and accuracy of data.
- Confers with document originators or engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents.
- Posts changes to computerized or manually control records, releases documents, and notifies affected departments.
- Supplies shop floor personnel with additional drawings, sketches, screen shots, and specifications as required.
- Prepares requests for reproduction of documents, as needed.
- Additional work hours as required.
- Additional duties as assigned.

Required
- Strong problem-solving skills, capable of coming up with creative approaches for generating new ideas and improving existing processes or products in the unit.
- Demonstrated experience with analyzing, organizing, and entering information electronically in a database system required.
- Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of management and individual contributors.
- Excellent computer skills are necessary including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, ERP systems, and other office software.
- Other Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required. Ability to multi-task, works independently, and interface at all levels of management.
- Ability to be flexible with business leaders to reach a decision or common goal.
- Strong work ethic and team player.
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
- Ability to be “hands-on” and “roll-up-your-sleeves” to get status throughout office environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent job experience.
Preferred
- Experience in a mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and/or automation engineering environment to build knowledge of various drawing requests.
