Summary

The Engineering Support role provides administrative assistance to the Engineering Department at Williams, White & Company. The Engineering Support role will be responsible for the organization and cataloguing of engineering documentation to electronic formats. 


Essential Functions

  1. Ability to work with technology or business management system to encourage an efficient, responsible, and timely ordering process.
  2. Performs administrative tasks and problem-solving of a highly complex and confidential nature requiring discretion and exercised independent judgment.
  3. Compiles and maintains control records and related files to release models, drawings, and engineering documents to Manufacturing and other operating departments.
  4. Examines documents, such as models, drawings, change orders, and specifications to verify completeness and accuracy of data.
  5. Confers with document originators or engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents.
  6. Posts changes to computerized or manually control records, releases documents, and notifies affected departments.
  7. Supplies shop floor personnel with additional drawings, sketches, screen shots, and specifications as required.
  8. Prepares requests for reproduction of documents, as needed.
  9. Additional work hours as required. 
  10. Additional duties as assigned.

Required

  1. Strong problem-solving skills, capable of coming up with creative approaches for generating new ideas and improving existing processes or products in the unit.
  2. Demonstrated experience with analyzing, organizing, and entering information electronically in a database system required.
  3. Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of management and individual contributors.
  4. Excellent computer skills are necessary including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, ERP systems, and other office software.
  5. Other Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required. Ability to multi-task, works independently, and interface at all levels of management. 
  6. Ability to be flexible with business leaders to reach a decision or common goal.
  7. Strong work ethic and team player.
  8. Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
  9. Ability to be “hands-on” and “roll-up-your-sleeves” to get status throughout office environment.
  10. High School Diploma or equivalent job experience. 

Preferred

  1. Experience in a mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and/or automation engineering environment to build knowledge of various drawing requests.
