About the Role:
As a Driver, you will have the opportunity to ensure the highest level of service possible to Willy Street Co-op’s internal and external customers. You will actively route and track products between distributors, our offsite production kitchen, and the three retail sites.

What You’ll Do:
You will lead the efforts in planning delivery routes, loading and unloading products with maximum efficiency. In addition, you’ll collaborate with other members to support the following areas:

• Arrange deliveries with customers while adhering to the delivery schedule
• Ensure items ordered and produced are loaded onto the truck
• Audit purchase orders or invoices to compare and ensure accuracy
• Determine efficient and safe delivery routes to locations as needed
• Load and organize products in the truck
• Ensure food safety during transport
• Maintain accurate delivery records
• Abide by all driving laws and drive safely, courteously and defensively
• Track and report any irregularities, damage to the food or the truck immediately
• Report any accidents to the police and before leaving the scene
• Inspect the delivery vehicle daily for safety
• Report any vehicle or delivery equipment malfunction or safety concerns to the Logistics Manager
• Maintain cargo area temperature consistently in accordance with HACCP and DATCP requirements
• Treat people fairly, consistently and with respect
• Abide by all Co-op policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and other company documents
• Keep the vehicle orderly and clean
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• A current and valid drivers license, free from violations for the past 3 years

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Standing, walking, bending, and reaching
• Using hands or fingers to handle or feel
• Specific vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and adjust to focus
• Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds at times

Work Environment:
Fast paced retail environment with food service equipment and coolers and in cold/hot working conditions (i.e. cooler or near heated surfaces). Other high to moderate noise including but not limited to computers, cash registers, paging, telephones, music and human voices.
