What You Will Be Doing
The Director of Benefits is responsible for driving the strategy, design, development, communication and administration of the firm’s health and welfare, and retirement plans. Advises, consults and serves as a member of the firm’s Benefits Committee and Retirement Committee.
The Director of Benefits leads and manages the firm-wide Benefits Team, motivating and developing staff to become a high-performing team by providing mentoring and training for each team member as a cornerstone of their career development.
Assists with proactively supporting client service by actively participating in the Firm's ServiceMatters initiative.Ensures that staff members are providing quality service to internal members/departments of the Firm as well as external clients and vendors by displaying professionalism via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person and by encouraging an atmosphere that rewards a "can do" attitude.
What You Will Be Doing
Works with the Firm’s Chief Human Resources Officer and Human Resources Directors to develop employee benefit strategy.
Manages vendor relationships and negotiates plan coverage, services, and costs with carriers and brokers.
Designs, develops, and administers the company's benefit plans and programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), defined benefit plan, and any other ancillary benefits.
Reviews and analyzes the market to determine trends, regulations and practices, and develops competitive programs and offerings for the firm’s lawyers and staff across multi-jurisdictions and countries.
Manage and administer the firm’s defined benefit plan for partners, interfacing with legal counsel, actuaries and advisors and to ensure an accurate and timely execution of related activities.
Oversee management of the 401(k) plan.
Ensures jurisdictional compliance of all benefits programs.
Oversees selection, participation and analysis of benefits surveys and other external instruments to aid the firm in strategic decision making.Gathers benchmarking information to assist in benefits program design.
Leads ongoing education programs and guidance to all personnel regarding health and welfare issues.
Communicates and manages process improvements and vendor issues with other HR leadership and appropriate operational team members.
Manages all audits for health and welfare plans.
