Wilshire is looking to add an experienced business development executive to help facilitate adoption of the expanding FT Wilshire Index offering across North America. This role will also leverage the entire Wilshire multi asset offering as may be appropriate to meet identified client needs.
In addition, this individual will be developing relationships with a broad spectrum of clients that would include (but not limited to) Asset Managers, Brokers, Custodians, Fund Administrators and Asset Owner sand driving adoption with ETF Issuers, Asset Owners derivatives desks and Consultants. It would further be expected that opportunities could be identified with other segments of the financial services industry as may be identified. The ideal candidate will be expected to represent Wilshire with the utmost professionalism and integrity in all client interactions, both written and verbal. This position reports to the Head of EMEA Sales.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with and report to the MD and Global Head of Index Sales to develop business plans meant to create, coordinate and close sales opportunities
- Proactively call and passionately market the complete FT Wilshire Index offering (including Factor, FT Wilshire Global Benchmark, thematic, ESG, digital assets and custom indexes)
- Deliver on the agreed revenue and other set sales metrics
- Develop and maintain an active pipeline of viable prospects
- Use Salesforce and other internal platforms as needed
- Work with teams across Wilshire to develop efficient cross-selling opportunities
- Proactively share experiences, best practices and suggestions for improvement
- Attend industry conferences, as needed
- Connect with prospects virtually and in person
- Proactively outreach to new and potential clients
- Will be assigned Global Key Accounts and existing accounts as part of responsibility
- Professionally present to various audience sizes
- Travel within assigned territory as needed to grow relationships and revenue
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the Index and/or data solution space across investment management or financial services industry serving in a selling capacity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent ability to collaborate with others; a team player
- Demonstrated ability to source, develop and close deals in accordance with relevant timelines
- Prior experience working with and responsible for Global Key Accounts.
- Demonstrated success in Index licensing/data sales, and the ability to establish sales goals and meet target
- Ability to work closely with clients on solutions for their indexing needs
- Ability to leverage an established network and identify opportunities for broad Wilshire offerings (multi-assets)
- Demonstrated experience managing a sales territory and pipeline
- Experience with Salesforce CRM
- Ability to interact credibly, demonstrating a high level of professionalism, with all levels of a prospect organization, from leadership to junior investment staff
- Demonstrated experience surpassing set goals and expectations
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment, shifting priorities as a result
