Warehouse Clerk

 

NATURE OF WORK: 

The employee will perform work involving storage and record keeping in a storage warehouse.  Tasks will require standing for long periods of time, lifting of boxes, loading and reloading of goods received to be delivered.  The Employee will check deliveries to make sure they are correct and not damaged.  Other duties may included picking up mail from the post office and delivering the mail to various locations.  A valid driver’s license is required.  

 

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK: 

Loads and unloads materials and supplies using available hand trucks and forklift.

Determines appropriate places for storage.

Keeps the warehouse clean and organized.

Deliver supplies to various locations.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

Working knowledge of inventory control and warehousing procedures.

Ability to load and unload materials and supplies.

Ability to manage an inventory system.

Skill in simple computations.

Ability to comprehend procedures.

Must be able to adapt to a traditional warehouse environment with seasonable temperature changes.

 

SUGGESTED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: 

Previous experience working in a warehouse and inventory control.
