We’re seeking a sharp legal assistant for our busy law firm who can help our attorneys and paralegals assist our clients and keep the office running smoothly. You’ll work with the legal and administrative teams to help the firm deliver a client-centered experience, processing firm mail, handling the identification, scanning, labeling, and properly handling and uploading to our client portal system the exchange of a variety of legal documents, preparing office correspondence and managing evidence received from clients, answering emails and phone calls, scheduling meetings and travel, and collaborating with the legal team in the service of firm mailings. Compensation:$43,000 annual salary
Responsibilities:- Accept other administrative tasks as needed to assist the team and ensure the firm runs smoothly
- Schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, make travel arrangements, and coordinate with outside vendors for events
- Manage office correspondence and administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, responding to emails, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines
- Provide administrative clerical support for the professional and marketing activities of the legal team
- 1-2 years of prior experience in a law firm environment as a secretary or administrative assistant
- Experience with legal software, litigation case management, and docketing programs
- Proficient with MS Office products
- Applicants must have excellent communication skills and organizational skills
- Applicants must be able to type 50 words per minute or faster
