What You'll Do

We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Ada facility.  This position will play an integral role in pushing forward cutting-edge technologies and manufacturing approaches that can support the current and future needs of the football factory in Ada. This position will develop, identify, and modify new / existing processes, technologies, and platforms for improved product manufacturing and quality.  This role’s core responsibilities will be to plan, design, implement, and optimize the current and new manufacturing equipment at the Ada facility. This person will lead all facility improvement projects while working directly in the manufacturing environment. This position will develop, and modify new and existing processes, technologies, and platforms for improved performance and/or cost reduction.

 

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

                   

  • Develop and apply creative ideas to implement automation solutions to increase efficiency and improve quality of the production of footballs.  
  • Build critical relationships and leverage expertise and capabilities from inside and outside Wilson to deliver results and create value.
  • Propose new technology to keep equipment and processes technologically advanced. Forward thinking / view of what the plant needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate process / equipment performance, make recommendations for continual improvement.
  • Develop and maintain reference documents, drawings, and technical work instructions.
  • Interact with external organizations (vendors, suppliers, etc.) to explore new technologies for sewing, material handling solutions, and product material.
  • Work closely with the current maintenance staff to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
  • Provide engineering support for production to trouble shoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Communicate across different groups within the facility to identify engineering projects and solutions to support the production and quality of footballs.
  • Effectively use project management/milestone planning techniques to drive multiple concurrent technological opportunities in line with Wilson’s internal stage/gate development process.
  • Establish new methods for evaluating and testing products. Define and write clear product specifications, including inspection and quality control procedures.
  • Provide process efficiency and suitability analysis and provide input to manufacturing, quality, and production management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

This role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.  May substitute for equivalent experience in the field.  We are looking for a candidate with 1 to 3 year of engineering experience.

  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities and the ability to work effectively in a high-paced environment that embraces change and value creation.
  • Strong project management and analytic skills.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Office Programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel 10% domestically and internationally.
