JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a dynamic role with SERVIR. This position involves integrating GESI considerations into Earth science applications across low and middle-income countries, ensuring that gender equality and social inclusion are at the forefront of environmental decision-making processes.

MAIN OBJECTIVES

• Review and assess the integration of GESI in SERVIR hub services.
• Develop criteria and methodologies for GESI assessments.
• Conduct in-depth interviews and compile findings into strategic reports.
• Engage with international development projects to enhance GESI responsiveness.

SCHEDULE OF WORK

• The total expected commitment is approximately 280 hours.
• The role includes mandatory travel for in-person collaboration sessions.

PLACE OF PERFORMANCE

• Primary location: Remote.
• Travel required to SERVIR SCO in Huntsville, AL for specific sessions.

PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE

• From Authority to Proceed (ATP) until August 2024.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in gender and social inclusion within environmental or related sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement GESI strategies and tools.
• Strong analytical skills and experience in conducting qualitative interviews.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
• Experience in international development and multilingual capabilities (French or Spanish) is a big plus
