The Mechanical Equipment Engineer designs mechanical systems for new and existing industrial automation equipment for the manufacture of small caliber ammunition.

Mechanical Equipment Engineer Essential Functions*:
- Evaluate and design alternatives to existing machinery to improve equipment and processes.
- Prepare Capital Requests for equipment related projects to begin at concept and continue through implementation with an ongoing support role after equipment enters operation; Create detailed cost estimates for projects of considerable scope and complexity.
- Work closely with vendors/contractors through quotation, design, and build process to ensure new equipment conforms to specifications.
- Assist Maintenance in troubleshooting of equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that offer innovation, lean practices, and/or cost reductions.
- Direct and coordinate with internal and external personnel on the installation of new equipment and equipment improvements.
- Bachelor's Degree* in Mechanical Engineering; must be completed by June 2024
- Must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (documentation required). Cumulative GPA on current institution transcript will be used in transfer college situations.
- Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously preferred.
- Experience with mechanical troubleshooting of automated industrial equipment (i.e. power presses, packing equipment, and parts feeding systems) preferred.
- Ability to travel occasionally, 5% or less
- This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
- This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
