Summary:

The Fleet Services Manager is responsible for the day to day operation of the regions Fleet department. Job duties include, but are not limited to, all of those listed below.  This position requires travel through all locations within the New England Region and may be based out of any of the branch locations. The Fleet Services Manager will manage approximately 8-10 direct reports within the regional area with multiple site locations to ensure departmental objectives are met, while providing leadership and strategic direction to maintain the fleet at an optimal level.

Responsibility & Duties: 

  • Act as liaison to the branch managers and the Regional Vice President of Operations to facilitate resolution of fleet related issues.
  • Ensuring that all Federal, State, and Local EPA, DOT, ANSI, OSHA and Safety laws and regulations concerning fleet operations are adhered to.
  • Ensuring individual department goals are in alignment with project and company direction through continuous proactive communication.
  • Enforcing administration standards and vehicle operating policies; preparation of periodic reports on operating costs; control over maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of vehicles.
  • Coordinating regional vehicle/equipment replacement, vehicle blanket and salvage activities. Directing the activities of the Regional Fleet Services operations including, vehicle acquisitions, service, maintenance and repair, vehicle/equipment salvage and contractor services.
  • Working closely with various departments to support due-diligence activities and support or lead various projects as required.
  • Acting as a catalyst for the sharing and implementation of best-practices resulting from specific Fleet initiatives.
  • Ensure proper safety policies and procedures are in place and followed. Eliminate all hazardous working conditions 
  • See that proper tools and equipment are made available to employees so they can do their job safely and efficiently 
  • Perform quality control checks on all equipment
  • Oversee day to day activities of Fleet Supervisors, Technicians, and various support staff
  • Responsible for coordinating all work with outside vendors
  • Manage regional budget including parts, supplies, and personnel
  • May support other Regions as necessary
  • Other duties as required
Skills & Abilities:

  • Prior experience working in a fleet or transportation industry is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office -Excel, Outlook (Intermediate level) is required.
  • Prior experience using Dossier Database Fleet or other fleet management software is required.
  • Prior knowledge or experience with DOT Regulations is preferred.
  • Prior knowledge of Multi State DMV policies and procedures is preferred.
  • Prior experience with IRP and IFTA filings are preferred.
  • Proficiency with software, databases, and web programs preferred.
  • Strong time-management/organizational skills

  • Maintain a high level of integrity and make ethical decisions
Education/ Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent, Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 Years’ Experience in Automotive, Fleet or Transportation Industry
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity
  • ASE or OEM Certification Preferred
