Overview of Position: The Windham Mountain Facilities Cleaning, Maintenance and Real Estate Service departments are responsible for the overall cleanliness and routine maintenance of the buildings, property (patios and decks) and grounds immediately on and surrounding the Windham Mountain main lodge, Vino di Montagna (mid-mountain restaurant), Tubing Park lodge, Winwood Inn and Windham Country Club clubhouse. The Base Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating the daily efforts of the Facilities Cleaning, Building Maintenance and Real Estate Service teams, ensuring Above & Beyond guest experiences are achieved. This includes but is not limited to snow removal, road, water and sewer maintenance, general lodge maintenance, etc. The Base Operations Manager also works closely with the Food & Beverage and Special Events Departments in coordinating special events functions needs.


Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Directly manage the departments’ supervisory staff with overall responsibility for recruiting, hiring, training, and reviewing daily/weekly department needs.
  • Manage staff scheduling and other needs.
  • Work closely with all staff to supervise and assist in overall day-to-day cleaning, routine maintenance, and special function duties.
  • Responsible for arranging all setup and breakdown of special events and functions.
  • Coordinate outdoor snow removal efforts. Maintaining the cleaning of all roads, parking lots, walkways and patios are a major safety concern to all who use them.
  • Operation and training of staff in the usage of heavy equipment including tractor with bucket, forklift, snow blowers and bobcat.
  • Coordinate the transport of trash and recyclables to the transfer station.
  • Maintain/overseeing ordering and inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain current and ensure proper contracts are held for building maintenance such as HVAC, Otis elevator, waste removal, etc.
  • Partner and cooperate with other departments for maintenance and cleaning efforts.
  • Create and prioritize off-season projects.
  • Create and maintain a responsible budget, as well as ensuring invoices are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate and coordinate projects to improve overall look and function of Windham Mountain.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Qualifications:

  • Exhibit strong leadership skills and possess previous management experience.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Be reliable, results-driven and willing to learn.
  • Be innovative and open-minded about improving the operation of the department.
  • Be comfortable interacting with both staff and guests in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Be able to handle stressful, noisy, and crowded situations.
  • Ability to stand for an entire work shift, to regularly move, bend, lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, and to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license with no major restrictions and acceptable to Windham Mountain insurance carrier.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance.


Work Schedule and Conditions:
We are in the business of providing Above and Beyond products and guest experiences. Traditionally busy periods are during weekends and holidays which you will be expected to work. You can also expect to be asked to work extra hours or days on occasion, especially during the holidays.
