Position Summary:
As a Dining Room Associate at our Assisted Living and Memory Care Facility, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional dining experiences for our residents. The primary responsibility of this position is to
ensure the smooth operation of the dining room, maintaining a pleasant and inviting atmosphere, and assisting residents during mealtimes. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, compassion, and a commitment to enhancing the overall well-being of our residents.
Responsibilities:
1. Service Excellence:
- Greet and assist residents with seating, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Take residents' meal orders, accommodate special dietary needs, and communicate preferences to the kitchen staff.
- Serve meals promptly and courteously, paying attention to presentation and portion control.
- Provide attentive and personalized service to residents, addressing any concerns or special requests.
2. Dining Room Management:
- Set up dining areas before mealtimes, ensuring tables are clean and properly arranged.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of meals and beverages.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the dining room, promptly addressing spills or other issues.
- Assist with the organization of special events or themed meals within the facility.
3. Resident Engagement:
- Foster positive relationships with residents by engaging in friendly conversations and showing genuine care and empathy.
- Provide assistance to residents with mobility challenges, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.
- Be observant of residents' well-being and report any changes or concerns to appropriate staff members.
4. Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with kitchen staff, caregivers, and other team members to ensure a seamless dining experience for residents.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions to stay informed about dietary restrictions, safety protocols, and resident preferences.
5. Regulatory Compliance:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and infection control policies related to dining services.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with food handling guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a dining service role, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor, especially when working with residents with memory care needs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
