Satellite Supervisor

Position Summary:

In addition to performing functions of a technologist, this position performs supervisory functions including contributing to the efficient operation of the office by coordinating departments and ensuring quality and continuity of patient care in alignment with organizational goals.

Essential Functions:

• Professional, positive and caring attitude throughout entire patient encounter.
• Work with and assist a wide range of individuals in a variety of situations.
• Listening to and resolving patient questions, comments and concerns.
• Perform requested exams according to the American College of Radiology (ACR) standards in an accurate, efficient and timely manner; as outlined in Department Policy & Procedural Manual.
• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with patients, family members, team members, supervisors, managers and Radiologists.
• Establish and maintain good rapport and a positive attitude towards all other departments, patients and referring physicians.
• Ensure communication to team members of departmental updates and/or changes.
• Oversee department workflow, adjusting where necessary based on priority of work, skills of team members and patient needs.
• Coordinate and schedule team members to ensure proper coverage.
• Evaluate the quality of patient care through observation of performance, clinical image assessments and patient comment card review.
• Perform in team member role as needed.
• Participate in candidate interview process for department.
• Assist in developing new hire training plan and process for successful candidates.
• Provide ongoing feedback to team members, including merit and disciplinary actions.
• Make regular assessments of team members’ training needs.
• Provide input for performance evaluations and merit bonus reviews.
• Ensure consistent application and enforcement of all company policies.
• Maintain adequate inventory of all departmental material/supplies and equipment
• Attend all necessary management meetings to keep abreast of overall company issues.
• Organize and lead regular team meetings for location.
• Demonstrate knowledge of institutional regulations regarding patient care, fire and safety, infection control disaster plan and emergency codes and procedures.
• Perform tasks required for accreditation from the American College of Radiology.
• Adhere to and uphold all HIPAA and New York State regulations regarding patient privacy as well as standards of ethics set forth by Windsong Radiology Group.
• All other temporary and/or permanent duties as assigned by Administrator or Manager.

Qualifications:

• 5 – 7 years’ experience as a Mammography technologist at Windsong or other facility.
• Maintain and uphold all ARRT/ACR guidelines.
• Maintain ARRT and NY State licensing requirements including continuing education credits.
• Demonstrated competency and proficiency as technologist.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to professionally communicate orally and in the written form.
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and effective time management skills.
• Awareness of other’s reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
• Basic Lifting as required, not to exceed 35 pounds.
• Must be able to stand; sit; walk for extended periods of time with the ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and Saturdays as well as ability to work additional hours as needed.

Work Environment:

Position is in a well-lighted, fast-paced, clean medical office environment.

Physical Requirements:

Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with the essential job functions such as stationary, mobility, operating machinery, convey and exchange information, identify, observe and /or positioning of patients.

Equipment:

Manual dexterity to operate standard office machines/equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line phones, photocopiers, fax systems and calculators.
