What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Winebid?
The Digital Beverage Group (including WineBid and Last Bottle) is looking for a well-rounded accounting professional to join our Napa Valley, CA operations. We are one of the largest online wine companies, with a culture that blends the best of both Napa Valley and Silicon Valley. It's an entrepreneurial and fun environment with diverse people bringing great wine deals to wine drinkers all around the world.
You will be a key member of the accounting team with responsibilities to:
- Take full ownership for the A/P process by: entering data into the company’s accounting software, coding invoices to appropriate G/L accounts, and obtaining approvals prior to payment of invoices
- Ensure timely payments by initiating weekly check runs
- Respond to vendor and employee inquiries regarding invoices and expenses; resolve invoice discrepancies
- Prepare daily revenue report and post related entry for 3 separate business units
- Match bills of lading to inventory invoices
- Reconcile and allocate charges from shipping invoices to the appropriate clients / cost centers
- Settle inbound wire payments
- Process employee expense reports and ensure proper support has been provided
- Record company credit card transactions and prepare reconciliations
- Assist with month end accounting close
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with annual financial statement audit
- Complete miscellaneous projects as needed
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in an accounting role performing services for multiple entities
- BA/BS in business/finance/accounting
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Intermediate skills in Excel and Microsoft Office products
- Ability to balance multiple priorities
