This position oversees, implements, and maintains Safety and Security programs for Wingspan Care Group and its affiliate agencies including, but not limited to, life safety, emergency management, and other support services roles. This individual must also be able to represent the organization and maintain good relationships with local safety authorities. The ideal candidate will have exceptional documentation and record keeping abilities and experience with ODE and other healthcare regulatory standards.

Position Description:
This position oversees, implements, and maintains Safety and Security programs for Wingspan Care Group and its affiliate agencies including, but not limited to, life safety, emergency management, and other support services roles. This individual must also be able to represent the organization and maintain good relationships with local safety authorities. The ideal candidate will have exceptional documentation and record keeping abilities and experience with ODE and other healthcare regulatory standards.
Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for the overall safety and security of all Wingspan Care Group and affiliate properties.
- Be routinely visible at all buildings. Carry an agency provided cell phone and be on-call for night-time security calls.
- Establish and maintain relationships, and act as liaison with local law enforcement and first responders.
- Responsible for conducting and documenting regular maintenance of safety systems, including ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Track the annual testing documentation of all generators, elevators, boilers, etc.
- Prepare affiliate agencies for emergency management situations, including conducting and documenting required fire, tornado and lock-down drills.
- Oversee development and implementation of Ohio Department of Education school safety and emergency management plans for all applicable school programs. Maintain all documentation required for school safety programs.
- Maintain updated documentation related to compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Continually update all of the disaster preparedness and emergency management plans for all agencies and develop training programs for employees on how to respond in an emergency.
- Conduct and document bimonthly security and safety in-services for new employees and annual security and safety recertification classes for all employees, plus other staff training as necessary.
- Monitor the supervision of the Shaker Heights campus front desk employees.
- Oversee contract security guard programs including vendor relationships.
- Assist in documentation of agency vehicle accidents.
- Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years prior experience with ODH, OMHAS or TJC licensure audits, including maintenance of regulatory documentation.
- Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, effective interpersonal skills, and practical and creative problem solving skills.
