Job Description
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and coordinate the university-wide student conduct system. Serves as a campus expert on WSU Student Conduct Code and the Academic Integrity Policy. Review and investigate incident reports and referrals of violations of the WSU Student Conduct Code and the Academic Integrity Policy on-campus and off-campus. Meet with students to inform the student of allegations, ensure due process, conduct investigations, make decisions, administer appropriate sanctions, and document outcomes. Manage the student conduct database for multiple users and provide reports and statistical analysis of conduct cases. Manage the conduct appeal process. Convene, train, and supervise the all-university Student Conduct Committee. Create training and materials to educate students, parents, faculty and staff on student behavior expectations, responses to manage behavior, and the student conduct process. Assist in training WSU Housing and Residence Life staff involved in student conduct. Provide training on classroom management and academic integrity. Continuously assess WSU policies and procedures regarding the student conduct process to ensure consistency with Minnesota State policy and law. and Consult with the WSU Affirmative Action & Legal Affairs Office and/or the Minnesota State Office of General Counsel as needed. Collaborate and assist the Director of Affirmative Action & Legal Affairs with investigations when appropriate.
2. Assist with Title IX Programming and response. Serve as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator for the university. Conduct intake meetings with complainants as needed. Conduct Title IX investigations as delegated by the Title IX Coordinator. Consult with the Title IX Coordinator regarding supportive measures and attend annual training. Assist with Title IX campus education and awareness programs and act as the student liaison between campus wellness programs and other support services. Collaborate with the Title IX Coordinator to provide gender-based violence/sexual assault prevention education for students.
3. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the departments and maintain the reputation of Winona State University. Including but not limited to engaging as an active member of the Behavioral Assessment and Intervention team (BAIT), participating in professional development opportunities, serving on university committees as appropriate, maintaining effective communication with colleagues, and engaging the Student Life & Development and Title IX teams.

Working Conditions: Occasional travel to professional conferences and training.
Physical Effort: Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, or related field.
  • One (1) years of experience in student development, student affairs, judicial affairs, residence life, legal issues in higher education or related employment.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of student conduct, student development theory, and judicial affairs in higher education.
  • Knowledge of due process procedures and applicable federal and state laws.
  • Knowledge of Title IX and higher education processes for student complaints and student support.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including conflict management.
  • Sensitivity to inclusion, diversity, and equity issues in higher education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals in Student Life & Development.
  • Database management and budgetary skills.
  • Knowledge of student development theory, data privacy, and FERPA.
  • Knowledge of communication processes and conflict management.
