The Role – Oracle DBA
This position drives the health and stability of critical banking Oracle database platforms through proactive capacity performance runtime analysis and reporting, effective capacity planning, performance tuning, and proactive problem detection, tracking, and problem resolution that effectively minimizes service disruption. Additional responsibilities will include right sizing new Oracle project workloads, proper placement and distribution of database workloads on Exadata infrastructure and driving optimal application up-time leveraging pre-defined database resiliency patterns aimed at using best practices and standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Oracle DBA will be responsible for installation, configuration, upgrading, administrating, monitoring, troubleshooting, cloning, Patching, Backup and restore of Oracle Databases. Would be responsible for reviewing application/databases, identify performance bottlenecks and fixing those.
- 5 or more years of experience as Oracle DBA experience with extensive experience using Active Data Guard, Golden Gate
- Good knowledge in Oracle database architecture and components.
- Experience in all routine DBA tasks including health checks, troubleshooting issues and installations.
- Good knowledge of PLSQL, and SQL
- Knowledge of traces, tkprof and find poorly performing SQL.sql, profiling, rewrite poorly performing SQL.
- Knowledge of Configurators, JVM’s, archiving and purging tools like HP Archiving
- Knowledge of oracle database wait events, Database and Application parameters
- Ability to fine tune the concurrent processing in large banking environment.
- Good knowledge of OEM.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5 Years of experience as Oracle DBA and unix skills
- Working experience in Oracle 11g, 12c and 19c versions.
- Experience in OEM like installing Agents, configuring targets and thresholds
- RMAN Backup and recovery
- Ability to learn new technologies and tools
- Good communication skills"
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Project management experience with infrastructure fulfilment.
- FarSync implementation and operational support.
- Experience with other Oracle administration and monitoring tools"
