**Position Overview:**
As the Operations Manager for our dairy feed and nutrition company, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing our operational processes to ensure efficient production and delivery of our feed products. In addition to managing day-to-day operations, staffing, and quality control, you will also be responsible for overseeing accounting, bank processes, money handling, and monitoring financial data to recommend solutions to improve profitability.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Operations Management:**
- Oversee all aspects of operations, including production, inventory management, and distribution and administrative.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Monitor production schedules and resource allocation to meet customer demand while minimizing waste and downtime.
2. **Quality Control:**
- Implement quality control measures to maintain the highest standards for our feed products.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality assurance protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the quality appropriate team(s) to address any issues and continuously improve product quality.
3. **Staffing and Workforce Management:**
- Develop staffing plans and recruitment strategies to ensure adequate manpower to meet production goals.
- Lead the hiring process, including candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of all reporting teams.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees to support their growth and career progression.
4. **Financial Management:**
- Oversee accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Manage bank processes, including deposits, withdrawals, and reconciliations.
- Monitor financial data and key performance indicators to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve profitability.
- Work closely with the office manager, GM and other teams to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
5. **Team Leadership and Development:**
- Lead and mentor a team of production staff, supervisors, and support personnel.
- Provide guidance and training to ensure adherence to safety protocols, best practices, and company policies.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the operations department.
6. **Supply Chain Management:**
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and ingredients.
- Work with suppliers to make sure ingredients are being purchased at best price and quality.
- Manage inventory levels to optimize stock levels, pricing and minimize shortages or excess inventory.
- Collaborate with appropriate teams to streamline supply chain processes and reduce costs.
7. **Customer Service and Satisfaction:**
- Work closely with the sales and customer service, production, and delivery teams to address customer inquiries, orders, and concerns promptly.
- Implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty .
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees welcome.
- Proven experience in operations management within feed, or food manufacturing industry, with a focus on dairy feed and nutrition preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a track record of driving process improvements.
- Solid understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices.
- Experience in financial management, including accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
