Join us as we work toward a clean energy future for the communities we serve! Our internship program empowers you to apply your coursework to challenging and meaningful projects. Join one of 30 interns between our Iowa and Wisconsin locations in this experience including an executive luncheon, volunteer events, site tours, networking activities and other opportunities. You’ll continue to develop your skills through meaningful work. Location: Hybrid-remote, this location will report to our Madison, WI office. Other WI office reporting locations available. Start Date: Monday, May 20th What you will do As a Distribution Engineering Intern, you will learn how an electric utility operates and designs energy systems with reliability, resiliency and customer affordability in mind. You’ll work with the broader engineering team and collaborate with other interns. Some projects you’ll complete include: Perform substation reviews to evaluate back feed capabilities Learn about and complete electric distribution project scopes Conduct reviews on commercial customer loads and transformers Qualifications: We are looking for students pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering Completion of some introductory power systems coursework preferred Currently holding a GPA of 2.75 or higher Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite An active interest, fresh ideas and a desire to learn about the utility industry Capable of working independently Ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities Our people are passionate about what they do, the product they sell, and the customers they serve.
