Junior Estimator
Position Summary:
The Junior Estimator plays a critical role in the preliminary planning and cost estimation of construction projects. In this position you will assist senior estimators and project managers in preparing accurate cost estimations and project analysis to support the successful execution of construction projects. The Junior Estimator will review project plans and specifications, perform quantity take-offs, solicit subcontractor and supplier quotations, and help in compiling comprehensive bid proposals. This is an onsite/office position.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for various construction projects.
- Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand the scope of work.
- Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to gather necessary information for estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs and prepare detailed cost breakdowns for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Maintain and update historical cost data for use in future projects.
- Participate in bid preparation and submission processes.
- Assist in preparing bid proposals, budgets, and cost reports.
- Support the team in identifying cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings as required.
- Stay updated on industry trends, construction techniques, and materials.
- Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required (Engineering / Construction Management preferred).
- 0 - 3 years of experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and develop in the field of construction estimating.
- Strong leadership skills and a commitment to excellence.
