Role Description

The IT Helpdesk Technician (ITHD) position will assist the information technology department in a variety of tasks to keep the network and endpoints running smoothly and enable consistent user productivity. Tasks will include computer system management setup and maintenance, network configuration and maintenance, IT help desk user support, and cyber security. Additional tasks may include, but are not limited to, data entry, database management, and AV setup. Candidates will interact with staff to maintain and develop information technology systems. Tasks will be performed on location at the Gateway office, but some remote work is possible.

A successful candidate must be a self-starter, willing to identify and take on tasks as they arise. The candidate must have abundant knowledge of information technologies and systems, the ability to coordinate at multiple levels and provide great customer service, and a willingness to take ownership of all IT-related issues. Additionally, the candidate must be willing and able to provide training on applications and procedures to end users.

Required Experience

Candidate must have previous, documented experience with the following:

  • VDI Operations Management
  • Hyper-V Management
  • Microsoft Server Manager Console
  • ConnectWise/Automate RMM Portal
  • Unifi Controller Management
  • FortiGate Firewall Policy Flow Concepts
  • Windows 10/11 OS Troubleshooting
  • Microsoft Office/M365 Applications Troubleshooting
  • Troubleshooting User Issues Remotely Via Voice or Messaging
  • M365 Management Portal Operation
  • Proofpoint Management Portal
  • Duo MFA Management Portal


Specific Duties

  • Deskside and remote support of local and remote users
  • Configure new systems and aid user adoption of new hardware
  • Management of the Help Desk ticket system
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventories
  • Create and distribute user training guides
  • Communicate IT-related announcements and instructions to users
  • Control the use of IT supplies
  • Clean user-returned IT equipment and maintain the condition of deployed equipment
  • Assist with server room equipment installations
  • Pull cabling and label connections
  • Assist the IT Director and Network Administrator as required


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (equivalent experience substitution considered)


Certifications (MUST have completed)

  • CompTIA A
  • CompTIA Network
  • Higher-Level Equivalent Certifications may be substituted (MIS Director's Discretion)


Certifications (MUST be seeking)

  • CompTIA Security (required completion within 1 year)
  • CompTIA Server (required completion within 1 year)
  • CompTIA Cloud


Work Environment

Applicants must be located near our office in Murfreesboro, TN. Work is completed primarily on-site with some limited remote capabilities (hybrid). General schedule is Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm with flexible to in/out times, as needed for current work assignments.
