What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tower Tech Top Hand position at Wisper ISP?
Wisper ISP is seeking a full-time non-exempt Maintenance Tower Technician Top Hand to join our Operations Team. Responsibilities for this role include numerous manual labor tasks involved with the installation, upgrades, service, and decommission of wireless internet service tower equipment throughout our network.. This role will often serve as the Lead on the Tower Top Side and must ensure that all team members adhere to Wisper's safety and operating standards. This position may require off duty hours work to be performed as needed by the department, as well as overnight travel within the network. This position will include all tools, safety/climbing gear, shared company vehicle, and will be based primarily in our Southern Illinois network region and will report to our Mascoutah, IL office for periodic meetings and inventory replenishment.
Tower Tech Top Hand
Pay: $21-$26 per hour
Schedule: Mon-Fri 8AM to 4:30PM with after-hours as needed. On-Call rotation.
Travel: 25% within Midwest network

- Climb towers up to 1000 ft.
- Create & execute Statement of Work (SOW)
- Coordinate & schedule tower work within the Network Construction department as needed
- Train & mentor Tier 1 & 2 Tower Technicians
- Create required pasts list for non-network tower equipment
- Timely completion of assigned administrative tasks
- Supervise the installation/maintenance of wireless internet equipment & camera systems
- Supervise the mounting of internet equipment & relay data cables to each device
- Install battery backups & grounding systems for equipment
- Supervise the preparation of equipment for installation
- Follow training protocols & safety briefings
- Database & documentation updates as needed
- Perform on-site analysis as needed
- Other duties as directed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to be added to the Company auto insurance policy
- Successful completion of all Tower Tech Tier 1 duties
- Successful completion of required tower training within 90days of hire
- Minimum 1 year demonstrated experience as a TowerTech Tier 2
- Obtain & maintain the provided training certifications perindustry standards
- Ability to climb towers up to 1000 ft.
- Off-duty hours as needed by department
- Legally authorized to work in country of employment without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status,now or in the future
