What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Administrator position at Witco?
Witco Inc. is in search of a Network Administrator with broad knowledge of hardware and software, and troubleshooting skills needed in a small business environment. Applications are housed on Microsoft Windows Servers. The development environment is on a virtual machine, and Windows 7 and 10 are utilized as the primary desktop operating systems.
Located near Yale, Michigan, Witco Inc. is a precision CNC Turning, Milling, and Gear Cutting company that services various global industries, including Aerospace, Medical, Defense, Metal Mining, Oil and Gas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the organization’s network infrastructure: Servers, switches, computers, peripherals, printers, scanners, mobile devices. Oversee and conduct daily monitoring tasks.
- Perform routine maintenance on servers and workstations. Plan, schedule and perform major upgrades. Recommend and implement improvements where applicable
- Configure and monitor firewall hardware and software, domain controllers, employee access, remote access, and logons
- Create user accounts. Maintain email, security, and distribution group charts
- Consult and make recommendations on hardware and software. Negotiate with vendors for best price and contract terms.
- Troubleshoot & resolve helpdesk tickets, and record system changes or problems within the help desk system
- Manage backup of data and ensure integrity and availability of stored data. Establish and monitor compliance with backup policy and procedures. Test restore/recovery hardware, software and procedures.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery procedures and documentation
- Maintain inventory of hardware and software
- Manage and program PBX phone system
Key Skills and Desired Experience:
- Key software includes MS Office, JobBOSS, Witco Shop (internal MRP), CAD (Solid Edge), CAM (GibbsCam), VMware vSphere, Sophos, Quickbooks
- Windows Servers (Exchange)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Microsoft Windows (Windows 7 and 10)
- Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve problems
- Solid understanding of business processes, workflows and data requirements
Position requirements:
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Performs duties with accuracy, thoroughness, attention to detail, and neatness.
- Must be comfortable in a manufacturing environment including on the plant floor
The Network Administrator works closely with the Software Administrator, and reports to the Business Manager.
