We need someone hungry for news, who will come in hit the phones and get out to meetings to develop a network of sources, as well as apply data-driven analysis, to consistently uncover valuable information and actionable insights for our subscribers.

The job.
Based in the US, you’ll be working alongside journalists and researchers across the globe.
You’ll be reporting on fund activity, providing subscribers with market intelligence on the development of new products and fund launches to significant capital raising, and key people moves.
You’ll also track the ups and downs of fund performance, providing investor relations teams with intelligence on how their fund compares to peers, how different strategies and managers are performing and why.
Your reporting will be contextualised with fund performance and investor data from our proprietary database.
Applicants should have proven journalism experience, preferably with business or finance publications, although we are open to reporters who have built up a strong track record covering news across other industries, or have shown outstanding initiative during internship/work placement roles.
The Responsibilities.
Break daily market intelligence about hedge fund activity, investment decisions and performance, using source networks and data-driven analysis.
Build relationships among the hedge fund community by working the phones, arranging in-person meetings, and attending industry events.
Coordinating news coverage with data research teams around the globe.
Stay on top of wider industry trends impacting the hedge fund sector.
Travel occasionally to cover industry conferences and build contacts.
The requirements.
Proven journalism experience, preferably with another business or finance publication
Good communication, organisational and time management skills
A journalism degree and/or professional training preferable, but not essential
An interest in and some knowledge of the hedge fund industry would also be advantageous
