The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for the completion of planned, preventive, and unplanned maintenance on a highly advanced automated material handling system in a distribution center environment. The ideal EM Tech is focused on maximizing system up-time and performance through safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Approach all tasks and situations with a Safety First mindset
- Maximize system performance and up-time through effective execution of all maintenance-related activities
- Participate in a broad array of electrical and mechanical tasks with minimal supervision
- Support Production Team through basic fault correction coaching and troubleshooting
- Assist in the installation of new or refurbishment of existing system components
- Facilitate continuous improvement activities through broad system knowledge and site-specific enhancements
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Strong electrical (3-Phase, 480V, DC and 24V controls) and mechanical skills
- Familiarity with electrics/mechanics in drive technology (motors/gears)
- Familiarity with control technology (PLC /controls/inverters)
- Knowledge of wiring diagrams and electrical measuring
- Comfort working with wide assortment of computer systems (Microsoft Office Suite, proprietary system monitoring programs, etc.)
- Ability to work in team environment
- Required: High school diploma with at 1-2 years experience in relevant electrical and/or mechanical role
- Preferred: Associates degree in industrial technology or related field with 2-4 years experience in relevant electrical and/mechanical role
- Experience maintaining material handling systems in a light industry or distribution center environment strong preferred
- Continuous walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and standing
- Working at heights of up to 80-100 feet wearing fall-arrest gear and other PPE
- Lifting, pulling and pushing up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Working in ambient, fresh (34°F), and frozen (-15°F) conditions
