General Summary:
The Site Engineer- Mechanical Installation oversees the mechanical installations of our Automated Material Handling Systems at US and Canada Project sites and is responsible for the proper execution of all installation tasks. This role with coordinate with the GC Construction Manager, Project Managers and WITRON sub contractors to ensure all work is completed in a safe and timely manner.
The Site Engineer- Mechanical Installation will travel extensively to our Construction Sites in the U.S. and Canada as well as an initial training period at our Global Headquarters in Parkstein, Germany.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
Supervision of the subcontractors during the installation of mechanical systems and any required adjustments of our mechanical components.
Testing protection devices and troubleshooting
Communication and coordination of all critical construction and installation related topics such as timeline issues, safety breaches, topics regarding layout and other project issues with the Project Manager, GC Construction Manager, PLC Project Leader and Mechanical Installation.
Control of the general timeline and deadlines set in the contract. If problems should occur, coordination with the Project Manager, GC Construction Manager, PLC Project Leader and Mechanical Installation.
Construction meetings with all subcontractors involved in the mechanical installation and to create the meeting minutes as well as a construction log.
Preparation and adjustment of construction and installation related documents
Briefing of the sub-contractor 's construction manager and handing over of existing codes of conduct for the construction site.
Secondary checks of safety measures in the various construction areas. For WITRON companies and WITRON sub-contractors to make sure all safety measures are always being kept.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a relevant electrical and/or mechanical role. Construction experience is preferred but not required
Associates degree in industrial technology or electronic engineering and experience working with material handling systems in a light industry or distribution center environment is preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
Familiarity with electrics/mechanics in drive technology (motors/gears)
Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand
Familiarity with control technology (PLC/controls/inverters)
Ability to work well in a team environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Access
Knowledge of German language helpful but not required
Travel:
During the initial training phase, the Site Engineer- Mechanical Installation will spend several weeks at WITRON Headquarters in Parkstein, Germany
Availability to travel 100% to various locations in the U.S. and Canada
