The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supervising the payroll functions, ensuring that payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with governmental regulations. This role involves managing payroll staff, maintaining payroll systems, and providing excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll matters.
As a Payroll Supervisor you will:
- Supervise the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll. Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and government regulations.
- Ensure all payroll transactions comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Stay updated with changes in payroll laws and implement necessary adjustments.
- Oversee the maintenance and updating of payroll systems and software. Collaborate with IT to resolve any system issues and implement upgrades.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and accuracy. Prepare and submit required payroll reports to management and government agencies.
- Address and resolve employee inquiries and issues related to payroll. Provide guidance and support to employees regarding payroll policies and procedures.
- Supervise payroll staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll operations and efficiency. Develop and document payroll procedures and policies.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure proper documentation of payroll transactions. Manage payroll-related files and records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
- Four (4) years of experience in payroll processing required with two (2) years in a supervisory or management role preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll practices, tax regulations, and labor laws. Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., UKG, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex payroll information clearly and concisely. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
