Job Description
The Foreman is responsible for the successful completion of each assigned project. The goal at the end of each job is to have a satisfied end user and customer. To be successful, the foreman must be able to manage the job site, the crew, and the customer. Successful site management means that the job is completed in a timely and accurate manner. Crew management means that crew members are well trained, know their job and responsibilities, and perform their work safely. The foreman should understand and support company policies and be able to explain them to crew members. If the foreman is unsure how to handle a situation on site, with a customer, or with an employee, he should go to his regional manager for help. To manage a customer, a foreman must understand how to provide high levels of customer service. Foremen are the face of the company and are vital to our success.
Specific Responsibilities
- Project Execution
- Before project start
- In communication with Regional Manager or Project Manager
- Reviews plans to ensure proper information has been provided
- Understands how to read drawings and structural calcs
- Communicates expectations to crew
- Establishes game plan to execute the project (timeframe, staging area, sequence, etc)
- During the project
- Ensures the accuracy of layout and follows details of the plans
- Correct material is installed in the correct location
- Know your plans!
- Tracks material early and often to ensure there are no stoppages or shortages. Stay organized.
- Communicates with PM and customer as needed
- Receives authorization from PM prior to any additional work to be performed (Change Orders)
- Job site not ready or free and clear
- Safety
- Daily reporting
- Looks forward. Ensures they have what they need beforehand (space, material, tool, hardware, etc.)
- Manages costs and only makes purchases when necessary
- Managing time
- Ensures the accuracy of layout and follows details of the plans
- Completion of project
- Ensures accuracy of the install
- Verifies scope of work as indicated on Job Walk has been completed fully
- Communicates to RM/PM anything that is not complete and why it is not complete
- Walks job with customer and gets sign off
- Manages company assets
- Company tools
- Stored in a safe and locked location on site and at night
- Assigns tools out and collects tools back at the end of each day
- Ensures tools are used properly
- Turns broken tools in for repair in a timely manner

- Ensures proper maintenance conducted per manufacturer recommendations
