Title: Partnership Accountant
Department: Accounting
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Partnership Accounting Manager
Supervises: N/A
Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial and tax return packages to meet deadlines and in accordance with GAAP and tax laws for the Limited Partnerships and LLC
- Review, and approve tax return and annual financial audit for Low Income Housing properties
- Work with internal and external parties to resolve open items & comments, and to ensure accuracy and timely completion of tax return and financial reporting
- Prepare quarterly financial report for investors while providing supporting documentation as requested
- Assist with technical accounting research and documentation of various accounting and tax issues, including but not limited to tax credit adjustment, 704B capital account issue, loss and depreciation estimation, variance analysis
- Coordinate the collection of financial audit and tax return as required
- Maintain General Ledger, amortization schedule, cash receipts, acquisition and/or disposition of assets, and management fee schedule
- Collaborate well across internal multiple functions and external parties
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Willingness to support the teamwork concept and help others
- Willingness to take ownership of the work and to initiate the work (responsibility)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Yardi desired
- Minimum intermediate level of excel skills
- Detailed oriented with attention to accuracy and organization
- Ability to handle high volume of transactions
- Demonstrated ability in problem solving, priority setting, and organizing
- Timely completion of assigned responsibilities
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent
- One to two years accounting experience
