Wollersheim Winery and Distillery is located on a scenic hillside across the Wisconsin River from Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. Wollersheim Winery is a leader in the Midwestern wine industry winning numerous awards throughout its storied history. With the addition of the distillery in 2015, the Wollersheim portfolio now makes brandies as well as whiskies. The business is family owned and operated and takes pride in producing all of its wines and spirits onsite. Distribution is mainly across the state of Wisconsin.
Position Summary: The Distribution Manager is responsible for the execution of sales for Wollersheim and Cedar Creek wine and spirits brands via our distributors. This position will work closely with our distribution partners and sales accounts to sell and promote our wine & spirits.
Specific Duties:
· Understand and reflect company brand, philosophy, and values to distributors, accounts, and customers.
· Ensure clear communication between distributors and Wollersheim team.
· Work with VP of Sales to develop and execute strategic sales plans and programming to accomplish company goals.
· Direct Wollersheim Sales Representative(s) to ensure effective use of time and appropriate communication with distribution.
· Submit weekly sales recaps for each member of the Sales Division to VP of Sales and the relevant distributor contacts.
· Coordinate and communicate allocations for wine & spirits.
· Prepare periodic sales report summarizing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
· Conduct market analyses to determine customer needs, pricing, and identify potential opportunities or inconsistencies with brand goals.
· Assist with channel forecasting and monitor progress of goals to ensure execution and adjustments as necessary.
· Work with distributors to develop relationships with high value accounts and chains.
· Advise distributors and accounts concerning sales and advertising techniques.
· Coordinate and ensure timely execution of marketing efforts regarding sponsorships, point-of-sale, and events.
· Represents company at distribution meetings and accounts to promote products.
· Coordinate and conduct sales training with distributors on wine & spirit offerings.
· Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with distributor representatives.
· Analyze and manage distributor charge backs to ensure programming stays within budget.
· Monitor sponsorships for effectiveness to ensure return on investment.
· Answer questions from resellers and handle complaints.
· Maintain up-to-date awareness of company activities and products and update distribution partners with all relevant information.
· Ensure all sales practices are compliant with company policies, as well as both state and federal laws.
· Monitor and evaluate general market activity, new products, and trends.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Bachelor’s degree in business or communications, or equivalent.
· 5 years of Sales experience,
· 2 years of alcohol industry experience.
· Extensive knowledge of wine and spirits.
· Extensive knowledge of sales techniques and strategies.
· Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Microsoft Excel.
· Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and valid vehicle insurance.
· Ability to train, coach, and lead team members.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and represent the company in a professional and customer friendly way.
