What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shelter Support Staff position at Women's Freedom Center?
Primary Responsibilities:
- Facilitate cooperative living & peer support
- Model and actively promote positive, nurturing interactions between adults and children in shelter
- Perform routine chores and cleaning tasks to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the shelter (e.g., sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, turning over rooms).
- Maintain shelter office space: stock office supplies & personal care supplies for residents
- Assist with the daily living needs of shelter residents, including access to phone, food and personal care items
- Perform basic maintenance as needed (e.g., changing light bulbs, plunging toilets) and report any major maintenance issues to Housing Coordinator
- Communicate shelter expectations to residents as outlined in the shelter guidelines. Promptly address difficulties or problems that arise, taking appropriate steps to deal with emergency situations with the goal of maintaining the safety of all
- Model non-violent conflict resolution
- Adhere to organizational policies
- Maintain professional boundaries
- Share in maintaining a work environment that is conducive to good work and good health
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
