Women's Health is currently seeking a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant to join one of our fast paced OBGYN locations to provide high quality care to our patients.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for taking patients’ vital signs, height, weight, and urine specimen and inputting values in EMR system
- Responsible for obtaining/updating patients’ chief complaint, allergies, medications, and medical history and transferring that information into the patient’s EMR chart
- In charge of prepping/stocking the exam rooms for patient visit/procedure
- Accountable for cleaning exam rooms and tables in-between patients
- Process orders and package specimens to send out to the labs
- Scheduling and obtaining prior authorization for patients’ radiology appointments
- Sterilization of instruments in the morning, evening, and after patient procedures
- Effectively triage patient calls in a timely manner
- Maintain OSHA compliant lab utilizing protective personal equipment, completing OSHA logs, sterilizing medical equipment, and working in a safe manner at all times
- Obtain patients’ medical records from another provider on request
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/qualifications:
- CMA or RMA preferred
- Experience in women's health preferred
- COVID-19 Vaccination is required
- OR scheduling and/or front desk experience a plus
- Must be proficient on a computer and familiar with EMR
- Comfortable talking to patients and addressing concerns
- Ability to calmly handle stressful situations
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate well
