Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a Automation Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.
- Automation Engineer should have experience with various PLC/DCS, Hands on working experience on Honeywell/Emerson/Allen Bradley etc. DCS/PLC or safety system projects for mainly oil and gas plants.
- Automation Engineer shall have primary responsibility of ensuring project deliverables comply with company/client standards and specifications to be able to check and produce necessary documentation/Software for Oil and Gas project Engineering/Testing.
- Automation Engineer shall be able to provide Engineering support to:
- Having vast knowledge of Control system Engineering experience for Oil & Gas projects, Honeywell system experience is preferable.
- Works on various DCS, Safety Systems, SCADA, Networks, system architecture, Cyber security Software and Hardware Configuration and testing with customer.
- Ensure that the technical content of all assigned design deliverables meet quality expectations; ensure drawings and designs are produced within the assigned timeframes. Raise any gaps or potential problems for resolution immediately upon identification.
- Responsible for developing project deliverables or helping other team members for all technical aspects.
- Check all MAC Construction, Engineering, and third-party site contractor red lines will advise red line originators of correct solution (fully detailed) working with Client to resolve issues.
- Coordinate and cooperate with the other disciplines/offices as directed to ensure the smooth flow of all Control Systems design information and red line / as-built processes on the project task force, and to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Preparation of Instrument Index, Interconnection wiring Diagram, JB/Cable schedule, Instrument loop diagram, IO Assignment etc.
- Project Engineering documents as FDS, Control Narrative, C&E, P&ID, FDS, DDS checking and alignment with Application.
- Understanding of functional safety standards and regulations, such as IEC 61508, and IEC 61511
- All other duties as assigned, related to the position.
- Automation Engineer shall be assigned as an Initiator or Checker of technical documents and projects assigned to him/her. He/she shall also be responsible to represent Wood in technical meetings / discussions with clients as per project requirements.
Skills / Qualifications
- B.E./B. Tech degree preferred in Control and Instrumentation engineering subjects.
- 5-12 years’ experience in control systems.
- Automation Engineer shall have practical experience and knowledge in the following topics:
- Industrial safety
- DCS/SIS/F&G/PLC knowledge SPI concepts Network and infrastructure concepts. Field Instrumentation.
- DCS/SIS/F&G/PLC knowledge SPI concepts Network and infrastructure concepts. Field Instrumentation.
