Wood is currently recruiting for Business Analyst position based out of Chennai location.
JOB OBJECTIVE:
- This broad role involves being the focal point for product and domain knowledge and provides the lynchpin between the business and the development teams. It requires an awareness of market trends, competition, customer needs and technology developments. Working with business and/or customer stakeholders, Business Analyst captures and translates business requirements into detailed functional specifications.
- With a demonstrable understanding of Scrum and Agile principles, the Business Analyst writes user stories for the development team, works closely with them and provides swift clarity on user requirements and their acceptance criteria. It involves close interaction with external customers and with the broader business, and it requires both imagination and attention to detail.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with Product Owners, SMEs and clients to define and capture requirements and articulate them through User Stories
- Helps Product Owners clarify their vision by clearly articulating the as-is and to-be states in a concise language and translates technical issues for external stakeholders
- Undertakes the product owner role in Scrum teams and works closely with the teams providing guidance and clarification on requirements
- Continually seeks a “fit for purpose” approach to identify the Minimum Viable Product that meets the key requirements and will deliver the required business value
- Assesses and prioritizes features/stories to determine the minimum set of requirements that can be delivered to satisfy the business need in the shortest time
- Writes, scopes and plans user stories and their acceptance criteria
- Provides visuals to communicate scope, priorities and sequence of stories
- Contributes to product roadmaps and manages the product roadmap with the support of Product Owners and SMEs
- Networks within the business and customers to define and shape requirements
- Continuously improves the business analysis process as well as the velocity of the development team
Skills / Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Tertiary education to degree/recognised certification level in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Tech Savvy – proven experience as a business analyst for technical software with a service-oriented attitude and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven working experience of business analysis and requirement gathering techniques
- Broad awareness and understanding of software and technology infrastructure including web applications, databases, understanding of system integration, web services and networks
- Experience of using issue tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, DevOps etc).
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Organised and methodical, ability to manage own workload and prioritise effectively.
- Flexible, visionary, yet pragmatic and with the ability to pay attention to detail
- Excellent networker who relishes meeting new people and build and leverage personal and professional networks
- Uses initiative and proactively considers new opportunities
