Overview / Responsibilities
Wood has a collaborative maintenance contract with Ampol to deliver leading maintenance and project services to their Lytton Refinery.
We are currently recruiting for Cost Controllers to join our team at Lytton, reporting to the Contract Manager. A key focus of your role will be to identify opportunities, to reduce costs, improve work force productivity and improve the accuracy and efficiency of processes for monthly reporting requirements.
A Brisbane based role, we will only consider applications from Australian citizens or those with the required permit/VISA for this region.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and controlling cost activities through all phases of project lifecycle
- Supporting the implementation of project cost management programmes that provide an accurate reflection of project performance at a project and programme level
- Ensuring that cost reports are delivered on time and within the guidelines of the project controls processes and procedures
- Liaising with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required, maintaining awareness of project activities and their impact on the project budget
- Producing updates to project cost forecasts
- Issuing project change orders / variations in accordance with engineering and construction change notifications.
Skills / Qualifications
- Desire for a career as a Cost Controller / Specialist
- Degree in Commerce and/or Engineering
- Exposure to brownfields projects will be considered advantageous
- Advanced skills in the cost control processes of a multi-discipline EPCM and EPC project
- Experience in cost management software
- Proficient knowledge and skills in the use of Excel
- Scheduling experience and a strong working knowledge of Primavera (P6) would be an advantage
- Has excellent attention to detail.
