Principal Piping Designer - Onshore, Glasgow Based
Wood are seeking Principal Piping Design services to support various Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Energy projects within our Process & Energy division for a duration of 6 months.

The appointed will have an extensive onshore layout background and recent experience of Aveva E3D software with strong technical piping knowledge and extensive experience of 2D and 3D software.

Workscope:
- Design software is 2D AutoCAD and 3D Aveva E3D software
- Perform equipment layout and pipe routing studies to optimise plot and buildings layout.
- Produce piping design work packs for issue to others and check piping isometric and pipe support detail drawings
- Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract
- Carry out work in accordance with company and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems
- Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process
- Maintain good communication with the project team and with the client
- Ensure that designs comply with all relevant technical standards and procedures
- Maintain discipline filing system, both electronic and hard copy
Skills / Qualifications

Expected:
- Minimum ONC or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject is essential, HNC is desirable
- Extensive and recent experience in the use of 2D AutoCAD software and Aveva E3D software
- Conversant with codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation applicable to piping design
- Able to create base designs and drawings from agreed workscope
- Experience of MS Excel spreadsheets
- Conversant with ASME B31.3 Design code requirements
- Able to provide detailed (yellow line) checking of piping deliverables produced by others
- A proven self-starter with the ability to manage your own workload without supervision
