Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.
Writing specifications and reviewing project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation, including checking for technical accuracySupport various project types, including studies, upgrades, renovations, and new construction for federal, state, and private-sector clients.
Develop calculation packages as required.Perform site visits of existing structures to evaluate their capacity and ability to resist new loading requirements; produce technical reports with technically sound recommendations. Be able to present and describe engineering solutions and concept competently to both technical and non-technical audience.
Develop or alter standard project specifications to meet project specific design criteria.Responsible to seal all drawings that have been prepared under their direction as required.Assure the technical quality of work performed by subordinates based upon organizational standards, codes and general knowledge of engineering principles and projects.Organize, plans, and coordinate own work as well as the resources assigned on a specific project.
Skills / Qualifications
- BSc, B.Eng. or equivalent professional qualification
- HNC / HND in engineering or equivalent with relevant considerable experience
